Snoop Lion Talks About Life
Before we get into Snoop’s views on gay marriage and his favorite TV show, ‘Cheaters.’ Can I just take a moment to be “that white guy” who didn’t know Snoop upgraded from a dogg to a lion? When did this happen, and why didn’t I hear about it on 60 minutes? I hate being white sometimes. Anyway, Snoop Lion is now some Bob Marley wannabe? Is that what I am getting here? He hates violence, wants peace, loves reggae and smokes a lot of pot? That’s cool, but I am pretty sure Bob Marley never rhymed “dizzle” and “shizzle” together in a song.
Let’s get to Snoop’s thoughts on life, though. The rapper sat down with The Huffington Post for a pretty in-depth interview. The conversation went from gay marriage, to cheaters, and then to his secret DJ career.
Snoop on gay marriage
“People can do what they want and as they please. Satisfy yourself accordingly. I have no issues with nobody, I live for me and I live my life doing what I do, so you should have the right to do whatever you want to do.”
Snoop on what he watches on TV when he gets the chance to actually watch TV,
“I watch the first ‘48 hours,’ after that I watch ‘Cheaters.’ I watch basketball, football, ESPN. I like ‘Love & Hip-Hop,’ ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ and don’t forget about my cartoons, man.”
And finally, Snoop on his DJ career,
“That’s DJ Snoopadelic. He’s the DJ. He loves playing records and making the people dance. I have alter egos and different personalities, and that’s one of them. My DJ Snoopadelic gig is more about me not being a rapper but me playing music and finding out what’s hot, and playing music that make me and you feel good at the same time.”
Oh, I see. He’s one of those celebrities that have “different personalities.” And we’re supposed to actually treat them like they’re a different person, and call them by multiple names. I remember doing that when I was seven-years-old and having my dad yell, “Grow up! No one is going to ever take you seriously in life.” I knew I shouldn’t have listened to my dad.
P.S. Did anyone else read Snoop’s quotes in his voice? I know I did, and it made the experience 10 times better.
