Cory Monteith’s Dad Devastated After Missing Cremation

Cory Monteith’s father Joe Monteith was already devastated after learning his son died this past weekend. However, Joe is completely distraught right now because he wasn’t given a chance to see his son one last time before he was cremated.

The distraught father told TMZ that he’s “totally devastated” that no one contacted him before the cremation took place. He claims that he wasn’t informed about the whole thing until after it took place.

He told TMZ the following,

“I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very very much. I’m saddened at the fact that I couldn’t have been there to see my son before he was cremated.”

Cory and his father didn’t exactly have a close relationship after he divorced his mother, but a few years ago they did reconnect with each other. Cory actually spoke about their relationship back in 2011 with Parade magazine,

“We’d spoken maybe three or four times (during that period), and he reached out to me on Facebook. I couldn’t shut the door, so I got on a plane…At some point, you realize your parents are human. They make the best decisions they can with the options available to them.”

At least they were able to reconnect before he passed away.
