‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer Reveals Daughter Has Muscular Dystrophy
If you were a fan of ‘Teen Mom 2‘ from the start, then you know that Leah Messer and Corey Simms have been trying to figure out why their daughter, Aliannah, has not been developing the same way as her twin sister.
After multiple doctor visits, therapy and tears, Leah Messer finally knows what her 4-year-old daughter is suffering from. The incredibly sad diagnosis was revealed on the season 5 premiere of Teen Mom 2.
Messer found out that Ali has a rare form of muscular dystrophy and her condition is only going to worsen. The condition is degenerative and will continue to progress as she gets older. Doctors say the condition will permanently put her in a wheelchair.
[more…]The news was hard to hear but Leah had her new husband, Jeremy Calvert, there to help her cope. They are trying to keep a positive attitude, but they do admit that it has been hard.
Still, Leah knows she has to stay strong for her daughter,
“Ali’s condition has brought us all extremely close together. We have to stay strong for Ali, and things are going good. We’ll do everything we can to make sure Ali has the life that she needs.”
That’s heartbreaking. It doesn’t matter what you think of Leah or the “Teen Mom” series. At the end of the day, that’s a real family and we can only imagine how hard this must be on them.
