Frank Ocean tells Chipotle Exactly what to do with Their $212,000!!
I’m still struggling to see exactly where the miss communication occurred. Chipotle and Frank Ocean had a deal. He was to remake the song “Pure Imagination” for a campaign of theirs promoting factory farming. If you remember that song was from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory so it all made sense. Ocean was to receive $425,000 to perform the song, $212,000 of which was paid upfront.
After Ocean was shown a final cut of the commercial he was not happy to see the Chipotle logo at the end of the spot and backed out of the deal, refusing to allow them to use his recording….and holding on to the $212,000. [more…]
When Ocean backed out, Fiona Apple was more then happy to step in and record the spot. Not only is she a vegan but she also wanted those 425,000 stacks.
After a weekend of Ocean getting blasted over social media, he took to his tumblr account with a message for the Mexican restaurant,
With a net worth of only $3 million, you would think that Franky baby would jump on the near half a million dollar payday. Hell, I would sing the song for a Burrito Bowl, chips and Guac!
Good luck getting another deal Frank, corporate America knows now that you are a spoiled DIVA. Below, Fiona shows us how to cash a check – here is the final Chipotle spot.
