Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals Plans for a Sex and the City 3!
We have been hearing the buzz for a few weeks about a “Sex And The City” Prequel television show, but now we are hearing rumors of another movie. That’s right, a third installment.
Sarah Jassica Parker is featured in this week’s Parade Magazine, and dishes the dirt on the upcoming possibility of a movie. She tells Parade,
‘There is. I know what the story is. It’s a small story, but I think it should be told, The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?’
Apparently this franchise still has a lot of legs. Super producer/writer/creator Darren Star will back the television series and Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on to be the producer.
DARREN STARR’S TRACK RECORD
- 2009/2010 – Melrose Place (TV series)
- 2009 – Niños ricos, pobres padres (TV series)
- 2008/ – 90210 (TV series)
- 2003 – Miss Match (TV series)
- 2000/2001 – Grosse Pointe (TV series)
- 1998/2004 – Sex and the City (TV series)
- 1995/1996 – Central Park West (TV series)
- 1992/1999 – Melrose Place (TV series)
- 1990/2000 – Beverly Hills, 90210 (TV series)
Personally I think the TV show will not be for the old school SATC2 fans, or maybe it will. It will be a prequel and the demographic will depend on how young they go. It’s said to be based on the Candace Bushnell novel “The Carrie Diaries”, which depicts Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte before they grow into their own, so to speak.
The TV will be picked up by The CW where Gossip Girl currently reigns supreme.
Blake Lively, Elizabeth Olsen, Selena Gomez, and Emma Roberts have been slated to play the foursome, but they haven’t concluded if that would be small screen or big screen. I vote for big-screen. I think it needs to stay edgy and racy (without being sl*tty of course). Maybe big screen first, then small screen, like Clueless! Sorry but that was my sh*t, both big screen and small screen versions.
Now we just have to get the boys from Entourage to see there’s a lot more money after HBO.
