‘Love Island’ Star Tommy Fury Beats YouTuber Jake Paul In Highly Anticipated Boxing Match
Well, it’s official. ‘YouTuber’ Jake Paul can no longer say he’s undefeated in the boxing ring. The 26-year-old’s pro record was 6-0 coming into the match against ‘Love Island‘ star Tommy Fury this past weekend. But now, it’s 6-1.
As some of you may know, Paul and Fury’s big boxing match finally went down in Saudi Arabia this past weekend after two years of trash talking by both camps.
The match went the distance with both stars landing some pretty heavy hits. At one point, Paul was able to knock Fury down to the canvas, but Fury bounced back up and pretty much dominated the rest of the way.
Fury was the more active fighter … throwing 302 punches, with 88 landing. Paul threw 157 punches and landed 49. It was a split decision on the judge’s scorecards … one judge had Jake ahead by a point. The other two judges had Tommy winning, and that was the difference.
Fury was emotional after the big win, saying the feud with Paul has dominated the last two years of his life, which is saying a lot because he just welcomed a baby with his ‘Love Island’ co-star, Molly-Mae, last month.
He believes this win lets him step out of his heavyweight champion brother Tyson’s shadow. “Tonight I made my own legacy. I am Tommy Fury,” he said after the win. Little does he know, he’s already made a legacy for himself, it just so happened to be on a reality tv dating competition.
Anyway, Jake Paul was a gracious loser, which was a little surprising. He’s also already asking for a rematch, which is highlighted in the contract they signed before the match.
So there’s a chance these two dudes will be in the ring with each other again. Fury’s pro record is now 9-0.
