Just how much was Elizabeth Taylor worth?

Known as one of the first famous people to set up a Brand, her estimated worth is somewhere between $600 million and $1 Billion dollars.

Elizabeth Taylor’s Jewelry
She had an extensive collection of costume Bling! Her jewelry alone is said to be worth $130 to $150 million. Her collection will be auctioned off at Christie’s in the near future.

I’m fortunate to have some very important pieces of jewelry. I don’t believe I own any of the pieces. I believe that I am their custodian, here to enjoy them, to give them the best treatment in the world, to watch after their safety, and to love them,” Taylor said in her book, “My Love Affair with Jewelry.

The Big Screen
She is also known as the first actress to command $1 million for the movie, Cleopatra, which is still considered to be one of the most expensive films ever. Taylor’s original contract was for $1 million and it eventually increased to $7 million because of all the delays in production. This is the equivalent of $47 million in today’s money. The film itself cost $44 million. Relatively the most expensive film in history ( $320 million in today’s money). Imagine paying an actress today $44 million for a starring role?

Fragrance
What people don’t’ realize is that Liz had been making a small fortune off of her perfume forever. Her big seller White Diamonds is the staple of her collection. Just last year her scents raked in about $77 million.

Just like other dead celebrities her empire will continue to earn, possibly more, now that she is gone. Expect her to join the Dead Celebrity Earnings list!

Yep, Dr. Seuss is on that list as well as Albert Einstein!
That’s one money list I’m not in a rush to join.
