Jennifer Lopez Can Possibly Get $34.3 Million for Season 11 of “Idol”
I’m sure this (out earning Marc Anthony) was part of the problem with her marriage, and now it’s just gotten bigger; possibly $34.3 million dollars bigger.
That’s how much Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be holding out for her next season of “American Idol”
Wow – could that be right? I guess “Idol” brings in way more money than I thought.
Cécile Frot-Coutaz, chief executive officer at FremantleMedia North America, which produces the series, said:
“We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”
$34.3 million is way more than her first season’s sum of $13.1 million. She is holding out for Simon Cowell’s pay day, which is where the $34.3 million figure originates from. I’m not sure if “No dark clouds on the horizon” means she’s actually going to get that or not, but I doubt it.
Just before her divorce announcement she said that she was on the fence about coming back to “Idol”, well there is nothing like $34.3 million to get your big a$$ off the fence. She said,
“I don’t know. I haven’t been forced to make a decision and I’m glad about that because, honestly, I’m very on the fence about it. I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening, and it’s going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year and we’re not really at the breaking point of, ‘You have to make a decision right now!’
“I’m just really enjoying the time of just waiting and seeing.”
Now that she is single with her third divorce underway, a big payday would make everything a little easier. I’m almost certain that she will be returning, I’m just not sure if she will really get $34.3. She’s no Simon Cowell. That would be $642,201 an hour of airtime.
That’s a lot of money, substantially more than Ryan Seacrest’s, 3 year $45 Million contract.
These are like NFL contracts for crying out loud. They don’t perform, they just judge and host. Sounds like I’m in the wrong freakin business.
I’m sure the details of her deal will be released soon…..for the record, I’m doubting the $34.3 million, but I’ve been wrong before.
