Lawrence Taylor – More Idiotic then Remorseful During Tell All Interview on Showtime’s Inside NFL [video]
On Showtime’s Inside The NFL last Wednesday they a had a sit down with Lawrence Taylor. Some of us know him as the Hall of Fame Line Backer, some of us from Dancing with the Stars and more recently, high profile pervert, guilty of sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute.
This interview was very telling. It told me that Lawrence Taylor didn’t care then, and doesn’t give a crap now. He was more worried about the embarrassment, then the fact that he was with an underage girl. As he tells Jim Brown,
“Do I wish this had gone another way, that day had never happened? Of course I do. The embarrassment I gave my family, the embarrassment of myself.
“As a football player, I know everything about football, I mean as far as defense and stuff. I mean, heh, I know what every player is supposed to, I know where every player is supposed to be. I can see the play before it happens. I know where I’m supposed to be. I know how to manage a football game.
“The problem with me is sometimes managing my life because I make a lot of bad decisions.
In fact, LT is more pissed off with the fact that he can’t get away with things like he used to in the past. There is no remorse or discussion on how he plans to change his ways….
Nowadays, you know, you guys are on 24 hours a day so everything that happens is actually exploited a little bit more or it’s blown up a little bit more, and more people know about it.
“You have to really discipline yourself. Hey, for years, I had no discipline. I could do what I wanted to do as far as playing in New York … I mean as long as it’s still within the law. Life sometimes it just throws you curves, and you just have to realize this is a different time, a different age, and you have to tell yourself to be a man, boy.”
Does he not realize that even “of age” prostitution is illegal?
When asked how has this entire ordeal changed him, he says that he hasn’t changed! He drives home the point, not only hasn’t he changed, but he never said he did.
THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN TODAY’S NFL
Then Taylor continues to show that as he has aged, his mentality is stuck in High School. He details how he was groomed for helmet to helmet contact. Despite the fact that some of the players that played in the league during his hey day, can’t even tie their shoes.
L.T. is one of the greatest NY Giants to ever play the game. I’m going to forget that I’ve ever seen this clip, because I’m tired of downgrading my heroes.
