Bobby Womack Recovers From Pneumonia, but Still Battles Stage 1 Colon Cancer.

Legendary singer Bobby Womack has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer.  That’s the bad Cancer – (not that there is a good one).  The news came by way of his good friend and legendary bass player Bootsy Collins.  Bootsy first revealed that he was battling Pneumonia then after speaking with Womack revealed that he had Colon Cancer.

Collins has been communicating Womack’s condition via his Facebook page,

“I JUST SPOKE TO OUR FRIEND Bobby Womack. He Wanted You All to Know That He Loves You & Thxs for the Prayers. Docs Says He Is In 1st Stage of Colon Cancer, He is Very Up Beat About His Future, we laughed & joked before we hung up.”

The 68 year old Womack thanked his fans for all the love and support and still looks forward to touring for his upcoming album.  He actually has a new album coming out soon “The Bravest Man in the Universe”.  The release date is scheduled for this summer, let’s hope he gets healthy enough to see its release date.

Womack is a Rock and Roll Hall of famer known for his classic love songs and even writing for the Rolling Stones.

Here’s a classic: If You think You’re Lonely Now!!
