The Real World’s Joey Kovar’s Cause of Death Confirmed, Initial Reports were Wrong.

We thought before that Real World star Joey Kovar died from a cocaine, alcohol and Viagra mix.  It appears that was not the case.  While that mix if taken enough times will surly kill you, that wasn’t what did Joey in.

A report from the Cook County Medical Examiner says that Kovar died from an accidental overdose from “Opiate intoxication”.

Kovar was known to be taking  a prescription painkiller called Norco which would be classified as an opiate, but it was not verified that Norco was the cause.  Norco is in a category of drugs known as an opioid pain reliever.

It was confirmed that just before Kovar died he was drunk and high on cocaine as he visited a friend, Stacey Achterhof in Chicago.  He took some Viagra then the two fooled around but did not engage in full intercourse.  When Stacey awoke the next morning she discovered Joey with blood coming from his nose and ears.  When the paramedics arrived Kovar was announced dead at her home.

They originally thought Joey died of an aneurysm.  Achterhof also said that she had actually seen Kovar taking Adderall and Xanax.

What we can conclude from this is yes, he didn’t die from his cocaine, alcohol, and Viagra mix, but I’m sure it didn’t help.  He didn’t die from Xanax and Adderall, but I’m sure it didn’t help.

The sad part about all of this is he has a three year old son and a two year old daughter.  At just age 29, with multiple attempts at rehab, Kovar’s death is definite tragic.
