Lindsay Lohan Talks with Piers Morgan

It’s been awhile since someone has really sat down and talked with Lindsay Lohan. She was on Letteman recently, but it wasn’t quite that serious of an interview. However, Piers Morgan managed to land an interview with the troubled star that everyone seems to be talking about. In the surprisingly interesting interview, Lindsay opens up about her family and her struggles with alcohol and drugs.

Right now, Lindsay Lohan is currently serving her 90-day rehab sentence at the Betty Ford clinic. This interview was filmed late last month, and Lindsay offers her thoughts on her impending stay in rehab.  Lindsay told Morgan,

“I look at it as a good thing. I can come back afterwards and be fully focused on work. But I think there are other things I could do instead of going to a rehab center that would benefit me more. The best thing they could do for me would be to make me go abroad to different countries and work with children.”

That might be the best thing for Lindsay in her mind, but would it really be the best thing for those poor children? Let’s just think about that for a moment.

Morgan dug deeper in the interview and asked Lindsay if she has ever voluntarily checked into a treatment facility, Lohan said,

“Once. I went when I was doing a movie called ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ and I hadn’t been drinking for a year at that point, but I was having really bad nightmares and the movie was pretty traumatizing. So I stayed in a facility so I could get some sleep and talk about it with someone the next day, because it was overwhelming. But I would leave everyday and just sleep there at night. I liked that. It was kind of like having my own live-in therapist, because I was having crazy nightmares and I was having AA meetings on set and stuff. It really helped.”

Yes, we’re pretty sure that movie was traumatizing for a lot of people. I believe it got a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is not good. It’s not like golf, lower is not better on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyway, the conversation then turned to Lindsay’s drug and alcohol use. She claims in the interview that she has only done cocaine “4 or 5 times.”

Lohan says,

“I don’t like it. It reminds me of my dad. I took it four times in a period from about the age of 20 to 23, and I got caught twice…It’s the truth. I’ve never taken heroin either, never injected myself with anything, never done LSD. Those things scare me.”

She also reveals that she can’t really explain why she is being forced to enter rehab, but she admits that going away from three months might not be a bad thing.

Well, it sounds to me like she thinks she doesn’t have a problem! Obviously, I don’t claim to know what is best for Lindsay Lohan, I don’t know the girl. However, I do know that rehab is not going to help her if she doesn’t think is anything is wrong. She’s obviously just doing it because she has to, heck, she doesn’t even get why she is in there in the first place! It’s like making a kid go in timeout and not making sure they understand why they’re going to timeout.

Lohan won’t change until she absolutely has to.
