Ariana Grande Talks Eating Disorder

Ariana Grande is a pretty big star on, ‘Nickelodeon.‘ The network liked her role so much on the hit show Victorious that they made a spinoff titled, Sam & Cat. She’s also quite the singer, as well. The 19-year-old’s single, ‘The Way’ has close to 46 million views on Youtube! It’s safe to say that Ariana is clearly on the rise in Hollywood. Her name is starting to become more and more popular, and you know what that means, she’s going to have to put up with a lot bullsh-t rumors.

The first major rumor to hit Ariana is a concerning one. Fans and gossip sites have been spreading rumors that Ariana might have an eating disorder. She has lost a good amount of weight since the first season of Victorious and fans were worried she wasn’t losing it in a healthy way. However, Ariana set the record straight on her Tumblr recently.

She wrote a very long letter to all her fans and she explained how she lost the weight…

“Yes, I lost a bit of weight last year. It’s because I stopped eating junk food and started making healthy choices. I was happy with the way I was before and I’m still happy now! Just healthier! To be honest I never really looked at myself too long in the mirror when I was younger, I just didn’t care. (Which is why some of my red carpet photos are so mortifying). But the lifestyle change I chose to make last August is not and was never about being skinnier. I just wasn’t taking care of myself at all. I was making really poor choices.”

I can’t seem to find any decent pictures of how she looked before, but she looks perfectly healthy to me right now. It seems like (especially in America) that we’re so to quick point out when someone looks “too” skinny, but we never say anything about someone being too fat. You call someone fat and you are instantly the worst person on earth, but it’s fine to make fun of someone for being too skinny. Have they ever thought, “Maybe they’re not too skinny, maybe I am just too fat?” I don’t know, it’s just a thought.

Anyway, Ariana went on to explain in more detail how she lost the weight…

“The reason why I lost as much weight as I did is because I used to live on junk food. Like around the clock. So I drastically changed my eating habits, started exercising daily and I’m all around healthier me. I’m eating as much as I was before just the content has changed. And the way I’m eating now actually helped even out my blood sugar. Also, I’ve been coming up with these really fun, healthy, completely organic homemade snack recipes after work. I’ll share some of them on my Tumblr soon.”

Good for her! I’d try out some of her snack recipes, but unfortunately I live in the real world and can’t afford organic stuff. I can barely afford knock-off brand food right now. It’s been a few years since I actually had a bowl of  Cheerios. I’ve been forced to get something called like, “Tasty O’S” or some sh-t like that. I think the company that makes them knows that only poor people buy their products, ‘cause the prizes inside are always like things you actually need.

Rolls of toilet paper, little shampoo bottles, quarters for the Laundromat. It’s real nice.
