TV Chef Nigella Lawson Choked by Her Husband (VIDEO)

Well, it looks like the tabloid cameras finally caught something that was worth taking pictures of! Several newspapers started to publish photos of British art collector Charles Saatchi choking his celebrity chef wife, Nigella Lawson. The incident went down on June 9th at a restaurant in London. As you can see, Charles can be seen choking his wife, doing something odd to her nose and then you see her walking off, clearly upset and crying her eyes out. Charles tried to play off the assault as a “playful tiff” while they were arguing about their children. However, the 70-year-old wife beater had to accept the “official warning” police give to someone who admits to the abuse. British law requires that the person receive an official warning, it doesn’t come with a penalty, but it can be used against him in court if he finds himself in trouble for something else.

London’s Metropolitan Police did confirm that a 70-year-old man had received the warning for assault. He apparently went to the police station voluntarily, Saatchi was reportedly questioned at the police station for quite some time. We’re not sure what he told them about the incident, but earlier he told the London Evening Standard paper that the whole thing looked worse than it actually was.

“About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasize my point. There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place.”

He also did admit that his wife and kids had left the family home, but he claims he told them to leave. “The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled.” Lawson and Saatchi have been married for 10 years now and have two kids that live with them. Both of the kids are Lawson’s from her previous marriage.

A playful tiff? Attempting to emphasize his point? What the f–k? Since when is it normal to grab someone’s throat while having a “debate” with them. I’ve been in plenty of debates and have never once choked my opponent out. I’m not sure putting your hand on someone’s throat would really emphasize your point, unless your point happened to be that you support domestic violence. Hopefully this all whole thing gets worked out. Maybe Charles will get some much needed help, but I doubt it. It doesn’t sound like he thinks he needs any.
