Alec Baldwin Is Quitting The Internets

Alec Baldwin has realized that having a Twitter account is probably not the best idea. Actually, him having any type of social media account is probably not a good idea. His “filter” doesn’t seem to kick in as fast as it should, so he really shouldn’t have that direct line open to the public.

As most know, he recently went into rage mode on his twitter. He called a UK reporter a “queen” and said he would stick his foot up his ass, but he would probably enjoy it too much. Well, he received some backlash for that and now he has announced he is quitting social media.

Alec told Vanity Fair the following,

“I went to Jimmy Gandolfini’s funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn’t have a Twitter. Gandolfini was so beloved as a person, and he was so admired as an actor, and he didn’t give a f–k about social media.”

Well, I guess he has a point? If you’re already an established actor with a loyal fan base, you don’t really have to be on the internets 24/7. However, if you’re a new actor just getting into the business, it’s probably in your best interest to engage with your fans on the internet.

Alec has been in this business awhile and has a loyal fan base, so I don’t really see the harm in him leaving Twitter. In fact, it’s probably a good thing when you consider how much he likes to run his fat mouth.
