The Real Story Behind Taylor Swift’s “Shut the F**k Up” At VMAs
While most of the headlines following the VMAs were all about Miley Cyrus, there was another young singer who also made headlines for something she said while watching the show.
As most of you have probably heard by now, Taylor Swift was caught by MTV cameras mouthing the words, “shut the f–k up” to her BFF, Selena Gomez.
What made this slip up so interesting was the fact that Swift’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles was talking on stage at the time. That caused many people to assume she was dissing her old boyfriend, but it apparently wasn’t that interesting or dramatic, at all.
Taylor Swift’s friend and tour buddy, Ed Sheeran, has finally cleared everything up. The 22-year-old singer recently said in an interview that Taylor’s “shut the f–k up” was actually aimed at Selena Gomez. Apparently, just a few seconds before Taylor said that, Selena had stated that she thought Miley Cyrus was going to win Best Pop Video.
Swift was then like, “Shut the f–k up, gurl. We all know you have the best video of all time.” And it turns out Taylor was right, because Selena ended winning the award.
So, there you have it folks! Taylor Swift was just being a good friend, at least according to Mr. Sheeran. I guess it’s possible that he could just be making that up to help his homegurl out, but he doesn’t really seem like the lying type.
I’m fairly certain Ed Sheeran doesn’t give a sh-t about Harry Styles and Taylor Swift’s relationship. He doesn’t even give a sh-t about what he wears every day, which is why we all love him.
