Did Kanye West Really Say He Was The Next Nelson Mandela?
Sadly, the great Nelson Mandela passed away last week at age 95. The death wasn’t exactly surprising, but it was still tough on a lot of people.
So, when Kanye West told ‘The Daily Currant’ that he was the next Nelson Mandela in an exclusive interview, you can imagine just how upset some people got. The interview featured amazing quotes like, “I liberate minds with my music. That’s more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever.” and “Mandela was working in South Africa, which has, like what, six people? I started my magic here in the USA and then I took my business global.”
It certainly sounds like something Kanye might say, right? Well, it turns out that people didn’t take time to look at the source of those quotes. The Daily Currant is a satirical newspaper and the interview is completely fake. Not even Kanye is naive enough to make such stupid comments.
The fake interview did manage to fool a lot of people, though. Just take a look at these people on Twitter, they were ready to truly make Kanye West the next Nelson Mandela.

Geez, poor Kanye! Even when he’s not opening up his big mouth, he’s still opening up his big mouth!
