Woody Allen’s Lawyer Responds To Sexual Abuse Accusations

Woody Allen has been in the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons. The allegations that Woody Allen sexually abused Dylan Farrow when she was just seven years old have resurfaced.

Not only did Ronan and Mia Farrow address the issue on Twitter after the tribute to Woody Allen at the Golden Globes. But just a few days ago, Dylan Farrow, wrote an open letter addressing the issue and it was published in the New York Times. The article shocked many and most people are starting to agree that it sounds like there is some truth behind the accusations.

In the past, Woody Allen has refused to talk about the sexual abuse claims, but the open letter has forced him to respond. His lawyer, Elkan Abramowitz, released the following statement,

“It is tragic that after 20 years a story engineered by a vengeful lover resurfaces after it was fully vetted and rejected by independent authorities. The one to blame for Dylan’s distress is neither Dylan nor Woody Allen.”

The lawyer seems to point the finger at Woody Allen’s ex-wife Mia Farrow. Abramowitz also claims that Allen has read the letter published in the New York Times and plans to respond “personally” very soon.

It’s certainly a sad situation. It’s hard to really “talk smack” about something like this. We’ll just have to see where this story goes and hope the truth comes out one day.
