“Survivor” Season 27 Contestant Caleb Bankston Killed in Workplace Accident

Die hard “Survivor” fans will remember Caleb Bankston from the Season 27 “Blood vs. Water”.  Casual fans will know him when we describe him as the fiancé of Colton.

Yes, that Colton.  Colton Cumbie, who in a short period became one of the most controversial players in the game’s history.  Today we are sharing are condolences as he and Bankston were planning to wed in October.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO CALEB BANKSTON?

Not much has been officially disclosed yet.  Bankston was working as an employee of the Alabama Warrior Railway company when the train derailed.  It was reported that one person died during the derailment and it was later confirmed to be Bankston.

The Federal Railroad Administration and the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been notified and the entire incident is under investigation. [more…]

The chances of one person dying and that person being a Survivor contestant and dating Colton are like 1 in a million.  We held off reporting this as we, like many other Survivor fans, assumed it was some type of sick joke being played on Colton who might have pissed someone off on social media.  Former contestant Sabrina Thompson further confirmed Bankston’s death by talking to Colton’s family and then sending out this tweet.

Bankston was only 26.  Just before locking his personal twitter account Colton tweeted,

I just wish it was me

RIP Bankston.  The Tribe has spoken for one last time.
