Floyd Mayweather’s Mouthpiece Is Probably Worth More Than Your Car!
It’s Monday morning, which means most people already hate their life again, so let’s just add to the misery by telling you how much money Floyd Mayweather is spending on his mouthpieces.
According to TMZ, the undefeated boxer pays NYC-based dentist Dr. Lee Gause $25,000 to create fancy grill-protectors stuffed with real $100 bills. You can check out some photos below.
And while “normal” people can get mouth guards for a little over $200 from Dr. Gause’s website, Mayweather’s mouthpieces are custom-made with gold flakes, diamond dust, and of course the $100 bills. That’s why the boxer is willing to pay $25,000-a-pop for them.
In addition to the lavish items added to the mouthpieces, Mayweather claims these special guards help him breathe during his fights. The dentist also flies out to Las Vegas before the big fights to make sure the fit is on point.
“My career’s gone on 19 years and I’ve been able to preserve my smile.” The boxer told TMZ.
I am pretty sure his smile would still be there if he didn’t waste $25,000 on a freakin’ mouthpiece. I can understand spending a little extra to make sure you are getting the best product out there, but does a mouthpiece really need to contain $100 bills?
And no, I am not “hating” on him. I just think it’s unnecessary. I will never understand the decisions some rich people make.
