Oprah has been doing this favorite thing list for over 20 years. We all have to admit that now it’s become this commercialized, over popularized pre-holiday event just like the holidays themselves but we still love it. When Oprah first brought the list to us, it was much more personal. It was a way for her fans to buy what she was actually buying and using herself. Oprah was worth a few billions less back then and she only had a show on ABC instead of a whole network. I was convinced that she actually really used and loved the things that she was recommending.
Now things are a little different. Not bad but different. This has turned into Oprah going through thousands of items that are presorted by her staff and hopefully selecting the ones that she thinks are best. Who really knows if she ultimately does the picking but typically there are some interesting items and there is no doubt that if you are one of the business owners that are lucky enough to make the cut, you are in for a phenomenal holiday season of sales.
