Are you ready for more Kate Plus 8? Actually I wasn’t, but I was interested in seeing how much the kids have grown.  Then after listening and watching the trailer for the new show, I might add this to my TWT watch list. (Train wreck TV – shows that are such a disaster you have to watch).

It seems like forever that this show was on because in actuality, it was. The show ended its run in 2009 and since then Kate has been hustling trying to stay in the limelight. She was a blogger for coupon cabin, she did a stint ‘Dancing with the Stars’, wrote a few books and somehow through all that hustle she managed to get this show back on the air.  More importantly she did it without Jon.

Although Jon and Kate made some money on the show, with 8 children and no other real careers to fall back on, times are hard for both of them. Kate is now estimated to be worth only $200,000 and Jon is worth just $10,000! He’s one car accident or one wisdom tooth pull away from having a negative net worth.

In case you were wondering, when their show was on and popping, they pulled down $22,500 per episode for 108 episodes. That’s $2,430,000. Not to mention syndication deals, DVD’s, and Kate’s book deal. It sounds like a lot of money to us, but with 8 kids that’s probably nothing. Hell with one kid and a wife that likes nice things that’s nothing.

Here is what the kids look like today. The sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Leah, Collin, Hannah and Joel are now 11 years old and her twins Mady and Cara are 15 years old.

Kate sat down with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on the Today show to promote the new season. She talked about her dating life and the fact that Mady and Cara are liking boys now. To be honest…the entire segment was boring has hell. I’m not even going to waste real estate posting it here. If you want to watch it, here it is on Youtube. You are here to be entertained and informed, not to take a nap.

What I will post here is the trailer for the new season. Watching the kids all grown up and Kate fumble through a blind date is somewhat entertaining. It will at least be good for a few episodes before it gets tiring but it was certainly good enough to watch for a minute.

I just hope all these kids get an education and a career so they can stop the cycle of chasing reality TV fame that their parents birthed them into.
