Executives Want Steve Harvey To Return As Host For Miss Universe Telecast Next Year!

Steve Harvey made one of the biggest mistakes of the year on Sunday. We all know what happened by now. During the most important part of the Miss Universe telecast, Harvey messed everything up and announced the wrong winner.

It was a shocking moment. It was a moment that provided the internet with enough jokes and memes to keep them occupied until 2016. Honestly, Steve Harvey gave the people of the internet the best Christmas gift in the world: laughter.

But you know who wasn’t laughing? Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez. It was a miserable night for her. An incredibly disappointing experience. Just minutes after hearing her name called out by Harvey, she and everyone else discovered it was a mistake. Miss Philippines was the real winner.

Harvey had one job and he didn’t deliver. That was THE most important moment of the night as host of the show. It’s the only moment he should have been focused on. Just to give you an example, it would be similar to the hospital staff letting a new mother walk out with the wrong baby.

Those employees would probably be fired. They certainly wouldn’t be asked by the confused mother to help with her next pregnancy.

But Steve Harvey is lucky because he works in show business, and sometimes mistakes can actually help your career. Mark Shapiro, the chief content officer of WME IMG (the company behind the Miss Universe Organization), told the Jim Rome Show that Harvey is welcomed to come back next year.

“He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself. The world forgives, the world forgets.”

And what Shapiro didn’t announce was that they had already signed Harvey to a multi-year contract before Sunday’s airing. Sources say the host might be signed on for six more years, and the sources also claim they’re paying him “more than they’ve ever paid a host before.”

Well done, Harvey. You’re just so hot right now, and in celebration of your hotness, let’s remember one of your best moments from Family Feud.
