Salma Hayek Thanks Her Fans For Supporting Her After Neighbor Shoots And Kills Her Dog
A few days ago, the lovely actress Salma Hayek revealed to her followers on social media that her German Shepard mix, Mozart, was shot to death in Washington. In her initial post, she didn’t provide fans with any of the details behind the shooting, but thanks to all the support she has received, she has decided to open up a little more.
In a statement to E! News, the 49-year-old actress said she was “very touched” by the support she has received during this difficult time, and that she would speak more about the situation “once I have gathered more information about what has happened.”
She also posted the photo you see below to her Instagram account today. She included the caption, “I am very moved by all your stories you have shared with me in regards of Mozart’s death. I am trying to figure out a way to use technology so we can have a chat and shares my feelings with you.”
So what did happen? Well, here is what we know. According to authorities in Washington state, Hayek’s neighbor fired an air rifle gun toward Mozart because he was allegedly fighting with his dogs inside his garage.
The wife of the man who shot Mozart claims he wasn’t trying to actually shoot the dog. They were just trying to scare him away and protect their own animals…
We didn’t even know we hit the dog. We didn’t even know we killed a dog. To find out we killed a dog that belonged to a high profile person, I’m in shock.
Of course, that’s just one side of the story; however, it’s the side police seem to believe. The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office ruled that the shooting was justified, but they will be sending the case to prosecutors for a second review.
We’ll keep you posted.
