‘Full House’ Star Candace Cameron Bure Apologizes After Posting “Seductive” Video Holding A Bible
That’s a weird headline, yeah? Let us try to explain. 45-year-old ‘Full House/Fuller House‘ star Candace Cameron Bure posted a clip to her TikTok and to her Instagram this week. In the clip, she can be seen lip-syncing to Lana Del Rey’s song, Jealous Girl.
She mouthed the lyrics, “Baby, I’m a gangster too and it takes two to tango/You don’t wanna’ dance with me, dance with me,” while staring at the camera seductively and holding a bible.
The caption of the post read, “When they don’t know the power of the Holy Spirit,” which had some people confused on the message. The video performed well on TikTok, but for some reason, it failed miserably on Instagram. Perhaps an older audience?
Her fans on Instagram called it a weird video and thought she was trying too hard to be seductive. They also didn’t appreciate her dragging the bible into it. There were so many negative comments that Bure decided to delete the video from her Instagram and send out an apology.
I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video. And I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird, and I’m sorry. That was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.
And so many of you thought that I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy or seductive. So I guess that didn’t work, but I deleted it.
Ouch. She later said she got the idea from her 22-year-old daughter’s TikTok, and that maybe she was trying too hard to be cool.
It’s worth noting the video is still on her TikTok page, and honestly, I don’t think it’s that bad.
What do you think?
