Britney Spears Sends Her Little Sister Jamie Lynn Cease and Desist Letter Over New Tell-All Book
Uh-oh. Just when we thought the drama between Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears was cooling down, Britney and her attorney just put the beef back in the oven at 450 degrees.
With help from attorney Mathew Rosengart, Britney sent her little sister a cease-and-desist letter, ordering Jamie Lynn to stop sharing stories about Britney’s personal life during interviews for her book.
We write with some hesitation because the last thing Britney wants is to bring more attention to your ill-timed book and its misleading or outrageous claims about her. Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.
As I have previously stated, having endured a 13-year conservatorship that stripped her of civil rights and fundamental liberties, Britney will no longer be bullied by her father or anyone else. Publicly airing false or fantastical grievances is wrong, especially when designed to sell books. It is also potentially unlawful and defamatory.
Honestly, unless Jamie Lynn has said something super outrageous, I don’t think Britney and her legal team have much of a case here. This is probably more of a threat. They hope it will scare Jamie Lynn.
This is just the latest chapter in the battle between the feuding sisters. Britney has accused her sister of having everything handed to her. She also went on her social media accounts to accuse Jamie Lynn of trying to “sell a book at her expense.”
Of course, Jamie Lynn denies this. In fact, she claims she’s not going on a traditional book tour because she’s not in it for the money. She claims she wrote this book to heal, but uh, we have our doubts.
In one interview, Jamie Lynn talked about how Britney did act erratically at times, once locking them inside a room with a knife.
Safe to say, I don’t think this family drama is going to be resolved any time soon.
