Judge Grants Kim Kardashian’s Wish, She’s Now Legally Single!

It’s a brand new day for Kim Kardashian, and we bet the morning air feels just a little fresher. We told you earlier this week that the 41-year-old star had a big court date coming up in her divorce from Kanye West.

West had been trying to block her from declaring herself “legally” single before the divorce had been finalized, but on Wednesday (March 2) the judge working the case finally granted Kim’s wish.

She is now legally a single woman and she can go back to her maiden name. This does not mean the divorce has been finalized, it’s just an acknowledgement that the divorce proceedings are going to drag out for a long time, so in the meantime, Kim can live her single life.

Insiders say Kim is cautiously optimistic…

Kim is feeling a huge sense of relief now that she has been declared legally single. She is very happy and feels she is one step closer to reclaiming her independence and being able to move on in her life.

As for Kanye? Well, he appears to be handling it okay for now. As far as we know, he hasn’t thrown any Instagram tantrums.

His new lawyer, Samantha Spector, told reporters after the hearing that Kanye has never cared about Kim’s “single” status, which is absolutely not true. But what do you expect, she’s a lawyer. She’s gotta spin it.

Kanye’s paperwork has always indicated that his problems with the divorce was only procedural. Moreover, he was always in support of the divorce only if Kim satisfied the procedural requirements to protect rights under the California law.

Sure thing. Anyway, this is just one battle. There are several huge issues that need to be handled in court, so this divorce process is far from over.

But for right now? Kim can celebrate a small victory.
