Wait, What? Ben Affleck Proposed To Jennifer Lopez While She Was Taking A Bubble Bath

In case you somehow missed the news, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are engaged. This is their second engagement. They were engaged back in 2003, but they split in 2004 and went on to start whole ass families with other people.

But after 17 years apart, they found their way back to each other last year. And now, after around a year of dating, Ben decided to propose. He surprised Lopez with a gorgeous green ring. Green is her favorite color. Apparently, lots of good things have happened to her while wearing green.

Unfortunately, she definitely wasn’t wearing green when Affleck proposed because she was completely naked in the bathtub.

That’s right, Lopez revealed in her ‘On the JLo‘ newsletter that the 49-year-old actor came in the bathroom while she was taking a bubble bath and got down on one knee.

Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. [I was] taken totally off guard. [I] just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again.

She admits she was speechless. So speechless that Affleck had to ask her, “Is that a yes?” to which she replied, “Yes, of course that’s yes!”

Lopez revealed she liked the simplicity of it all. She didn’t want some fancy proposal.

It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined. Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.

Man, that’s a bold move by Affleck. Proposing to someone while they’re naked in a bubble bath? I mean, how does that even work? Was he already supposed to join her? Or was he all bored in the room waiting for her and was like, “Heck, why not right now?” I MEAN, DID HE PLAN THIS?

In any event, congrats to the happy couple. Here’s to hoping they actually get married this time.
