Wynonna And Ashley Judd Left Completely Out Of Late Mother’s $25 Million Will

Earlier this year, the country music community was shocked to learn of the death of Naomi Judd. The country music legend had suffered with mental health issues for years, and at the age of 76, she committed suicide. It was actually her daughter, Ashley, who found her inside the bedroom with a self-inflicted gun wound.

Ever since her passing, both Ashley and Wynonna have been honoring their late mother with tribute after tribute. They attended Naomi’s Country Music Hall of Fame induction just one day after announcing her death.

By all accounts, they had a decent relationship with their mother, which is why this recent news seems so bizarre.

According to court documents, Naomi left her entire $25 million estate to her husband, Larry Strickland. They have been married for 33 years. He was appointed the executor of her estate.

Naomi requested in the will that the musician, 76, have ‘full authority and discretion’ over any property that is an asset to her estate “without the approval of any court” or permission from any beneficiary of the estate.

She also stated, per the documents, that Strickland would be entitled to receive ‘reasonable compensation’ for his services, and that he would be paid or reimbursed for all ‘reasonable expenses, advances and disbursements, including attorney’s and accountant’s fees, made or incurred in the administration of my estate.’

Damn. According to the report, the will was prepared five years ago back in 2017 when Naomi was of sound mind. It appears this is how she wanted it. And get this, if Strickland would have died before her, she wanted her brother-in-law, Reginald Strickland, to have full control.

How do Ashley and Wynonna feel about this? Well, they haven’t released any public statements, but a source with Radar Online claims Wynonna is not happy. She’s apparently upset because she formed one-half of the duo, The Judds, with her mother, so she believes they share their success together.

But again, that’s just one source claiming that. It’s entirely possibly Naomi just trusted Larry the most and provided him with instructions to spread the wealth.

For what it’s worth, Wynonna’s net worth sits at around $12 million. Ashley’s reportedly sits at $14 million, so it’s not like they’re struggling for money.
