Jeremy Renner Posts First Photo After Horrific Snowplow Accident, Long Recovery Ahead
As we told you earlier this week, Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was involved in a horrific snowplow accident. The 51-year-old star was using a huge snowplow machine this past weekend, trying to clear both his and his neighbor’s driveway up in the mountains near Reno.
At some point, he must have jumped outside of the machine and that’s when the accident occurred. He was apparently run over by the machine and had blunt force trauma to his chest. He also suffered major injuries to his leg, which resulted in heavy blood loss. A neighbor had to place a tourniquet on Renner’s leg to stop the bleeding until a helicopter was able to land and take him to the hospital.
One day after the incident, a rep for Renner confirmed that the actor underwent surgery to treat his injuries. At the time, his rep said he was still in the ICU, but was in stable condition.
On Tuesday, he posted a selfie from the hospital bed, and you can tell he looks pretty banged up. He captioned the post, “thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

No word on how long his recovery will be, but we’re sure at this moment, he just feels lucky to be alive. If his neighbor hadn’t been there, who knows what would have happened. This might be a much different story.
For those who didn’t know, Renner has lived in Reno for years now. In 2019, he told a local newspaper that he considers himself a Renoite.
In a big city, it’s hard to find community and even know your neighbors in a big city, but with Reno, I find I know quite a few people here. It’s just big enough, and it’s just small enough for me, and I love it.
And it appears it was a member of that very community who saved his life.
