Fans Believe Taylor Swift’s New Release ‘When Emma Falls In Love’ Is About Emma Stone

Apparently, Taylor Swift doesn’t just write about her love life, she also writes about the love lives of her very famous friends.

Swift dropped her re-recorded album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), on Friday (July 7) and the album features six new songs no one has ever heard.

And one of those songs is titled, When Emma Falls in Love. Fans are nearly certain that the track is about Emma Stone, when she was falling in love with Andrew Garfield.

One person tweeted, “WHEN EMMA FALLS IN LOVE IS ACTUALLY ABOUT EMMA STONE AND ANDREW GARFIELD?”

Several other fans made video edits of Stone and Garfield when they were together as Swift’s new song plays in the background. Those Swifties are quick!

In the track, Swift sings, “When Emma falls in love, she calls up her mom, jokes about the ways that this one could go wrong.” A pretty vague lyric, but Stone is known for having a great relationship with her mom, often talking about her during interviews and taking her to events.

Swift also sings, “Well, she’s so New York when she’s in L.A.,” which could be a reference to when they were hanging out in NYC together between 2008-2010, when Swift wrote the original Speak Now album.

For those who don’t know, Stone and Garfield dated from late 2010 to 2015 after meeting on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man. Lots of people thought they’d end up getting married because they were so cute together, but the magic just didn’t last.

What do you think? Is this song about Emma? And if so, did Taylor ask for permission?
