There’s been a lot talk about Jeffrey Epstein this week, due to court documents finally being released to the public. The actual list that was released wasn’t all that surprising, with names like Bill Clinton and David Copperfield being mentioned several times.
But there were a bunch of fake lists going around too, and somehow, Whoopi Goldberg found herself on one. Not wanting to be associated with Epstein in any way, the Oscar winner took some time out of a recent episode of The View to address the rumors.
Apparently, they said I was on the island. And I don’t go anywhere! So I’m just going to say — and there’s just been a lot of stuff recently, I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody — but apparently there are a lot of the [tabloid] sites [and] people don’t realize they can be harmful.
Her co-hosts backed her up by confirming the fact that she rarely ever leaves her house. And she’s especially not a fan of islands, so the rumors didn’t make any sense.
The 68-year-old star also took this moment to debunk some other rumors that have been floating around about her…
I never got kicked out of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. I never got kicked out of Guy Fieri’s restaurant. I didn’t get kicked off Bill Maher’s show. I didn’t get into a fight with Oprah backstage here at The View. I mean, it just goes — it’s insane. It goes on and on and on.
So there you have it, folks. We don’t have to cancel Whoopi, and for that, we are very grateful.
