Lizzo Wants To Make It Clear She’s NOT Quitting The Music Industry, But She Is Quitting This
Lizzo recently made a post on her Instagram, which led people to believe she was quitting the music industry. She basically told her remaining fans, “I quit,” which shocked quite a few people.
You’ll remember, her career took a massive hit when multiple former dancers accused her of sexual harassment and even body shaming, which is super weird because Lizzo claims to be all about body positivity.
In any event, the 35-year-old artist went back on her Instagram on Tuesday to clear up the confusion. She says she’s not quitting the music industry, she’s quitting giving attention to negative energy.
What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people. And I know I’m not alone. In no way, shape, or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that’s louder than the positive. If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people, negative comments win, then I’ve done even more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m going to keep moving forward and keep being me.
As you can see, she’s still claiming the victim role in all this. She hasn’t really addressed the sexual harassment rumors. Instead, she has pointed out how much good she’s done in the world. Seriously. That was her “apology,” which is kinda f**ked up because there were some pretty serious accusations against her.
In the lawsuit, the dancers claimed that ‘things quickly got out of hand’ after ‘Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas during a trip to Amsterdam in February 2023.
We’ll see if she can make a comeback. We have our doubts, unless she starts eating some humble pie.
