Sinead O’Connor Cancels All Shows, Diagnosed as Bipolar!

Sinead O’Connor has been on the edge of sanity for a few years now.  First it was the suicide comments on Twitter, and then it was the crazy marriage with her new husband Barry Herridge.  She called off the marriage, then called it back on after a wild night of sex.  As I covered those topics all I could think was….”This B**tch is Crazy”.  Guess What?  I was right.

Back in January she was in the midst of another breakdown where she was institutionalized briefly for depression.  Then she said that she was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and released.

Well they were right as well.  O’Connor announced that she will not be continuing her tour because she is suffering from mental illness.  She posted on her website yesterday.

‘With enormous regret I must announce that I have to cancel all touring for the year as am very unwell due to bipolar disorder. ‘As you all know I had a very serious breakdown between December and March and I had been advised by my doctor not to go on tour but didn’t want to ‘fail’ or let anyone down as the tour was already booked to coincide with album release.’

‘So very stupidly I ignored his advice to my great detriment, attempting to be stronger than I actually am.

‘I apologize sincerely for any difficulties this may cause. While touring will be cancelled I do hope and plan to appear at the Curtis Mayfield tribute in The Lincoln Centre in July.’

HER NEW ALBUM IS GOOD!

The sad part about it all is that when an artist like O’Connor is suffering they produce their best stuff.  Her latest album, How About I be Me was getting rave reviews.  It has been call “the strongest effort in the second half of an extraordinary career.”

Now that her music is on track, let’s hope she seeks the helps she needs and pulls her life together.  At only 45 years old and apparently some good performances left in her the music industry doesn’t want to lose her now.
