Magician Wayne Houchin Maliciously Set On Fire On a Dominican Republic Talk Show

Magician Wayne Houchin was in the Dominican Republic doing a talk show when his head literally caught on fire.

Houchin appeared on a show called, “Closer To the Stars”.  Although it’s not entirely clear what happened or why, video released on the internet shows guest host Franlin Barazarte dousing Houchin’s head with a flammable cologne.  The magicians head then bursts into flames and everyone tries to beat it out!
Houchin added the quick work of his team to extinguish the fire saved him, but not before he was covered in burns. His neck, head, face and right hand were injured in the attack.  On his facebook page Houchin provided his fans with an update of his condition:

I will be extending my stay here in the Dominican Republic in order to undergo continuous treatment for my burns. The doctors are cautiously optimistic that I will fully recover with no scars.

The Dominican Republic is a beautiful country full of beautiful people. The outrage here and outpouring of support has been incredible.

The support, love and well wishes that has been sent my way through social media, blogs, forums, friends and fans has been both humbling and overwhelming.

Wayne says that the act was completely unexpected and he is treating it as criminal.

“[He] ignited it and intentionally dropped it on my head, setting me on fire.  I was not aware he was going to do this. This was not a stunt or part of an act – this was a criminal attack.”
