Boo! Emmy Rossum Is Engaged To Writer/Director Sam Esmail, Get The Details Inside!

Why am I booing this exciting news? Because Emmy Rossum was one of my three dream girls out in Hollywood. You had Emmy, Emma Watson and Amanda Seyfried. And slowly, I am starting to lose something I never (and will never) have. Amanda is in a pretty serious relationship with Justin Long, Emmy is now engaged, which leaves Emma as the only single one.

But this post isn’t about my fantasies. The 28-year-old Shameless star has confirmed her engagement to writer/director Sam Esmail. They have apparently been dating for two years. Reports claim Esmail popped the question last weekend. They actually met each other on the set of the 2014 film Comet. He was the director and she was the lead actress. Fun fact, Justin Long also starred in the movie, which means he is the evil connection in all this.

Back in September of 2014, Rossum talked about Esmail during an interview with Cosmopolitan…

I don’t gravitate to the jock; it’s the nerdy guy in the corner. I’m dating a writer now [Sam Esmail]. Writers are sexy.

Can you believe that? SHE THINKS I AM SEXY! Ugh. We could have been so incredibly average together, Rossum. The good news is that Emmy hasn’t had much luck with marriage. She was previously married to music executive Justin Siegel.

Honestly, I was so young, I don’t think I knew what marriage meant. My parents were never married, and I was teased in school and called a bastard. So the idea of marriage as safety forever was idealized in my head, and we rushed into it.

You know what they say, right? Second time’s the charm. Oh wait, no…they don’t say that. They say third time’s the charm, which means Mr. Esmail will just be another name on her Wiki page in a few years.

Of course, I’m just f–king around. I hope they have a long and healthy marriage. Congrats to the happy couple!
