Dr. Dre Is FURIOUS After Majorie Taylor Greene Uses His Song Without Permission… YIKES!

There is some major beef between Dr. Dre and Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene. If you missed it, MTG released a highly produced video of her walking to the House floor on Monday morning, using Dr. Dre’s track, Still D.R.E., in the background.

The clip was apparently some sort of flex about how she helped get Rep. Kevin McCarthy elected as House Speaker, which no one should should be bragging about considering how embarrassing the process was.

Well, turns out (unsurprisingly) that Dr. Dre did not give her permission to use the song in her video, so he had his legal team reach out to Twitter to get the video removed.

Twitter reacted quickly. Not only did they remove the video, but they also temporaily suspended MTG’s account for using copyrighted work without permission.

Dr. Dre told TMZ, “I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one.”

And his lawyer sent her team a letter, threatening her with legal action for exploiting his music. Dre’s lawyer went after her hard:

You would have a passing familiarity with the laws of our country. It’s possible, though, that laws governing intellectual property are a little too arcane and insufficiently populist for you to really have spent much time on. We’re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.

… damn. Safe to say, I don’t think she’ll be using Dre’s music anymore. But don’t worry, MTG! We’re sure Randy Travis or Kid Rock will let you use one of their hits.
