Ellen DeGeneres Embarasses the One Million Moms Group and Thanks J.C. Penny [video]
Ellen DeGeneres Takes her turn at the One Million Moms Group on her Show.
With all the anti-gay stuff flying around, the protests, facebook fan pages, tweets, and other nonsense, we heard from almost everybody except Ellen herself.
One Million Moms have been leading the pack saying that J.C. Penney was following the trend of Pro-Gay by hiring Ellen. They referred to it as the “Anti-Gay” Bandwagon. J.C. Penney picked up Ellen to update their clothing and household brand image.
I guess enough was enough for the 52 year old talk show host. She used Tuesday’s taping of her show to fire shots back. That’s what having your own show (or blog) is all about. You can say whatever you want and take as long as you want, and Ellen didn’t let the opportunity pass by.
She kicked things off from her opening monologue, explaining how she would usually let things like this go, but not this time.,
“Normally I try not to pay attention to my haters, but this time I’d like to talk about it because my haters are my motivators.”
“For those of you are just tuning in for the first time, it’s true. I’m gay. I hope you were sitting down,”
“They (One Million Moms) wanted to get me fired and I am proud and happy to say that J.C. Penney stuck by their decision to make me their spokesperson,”
“Being gay or pro-gay isn’t a bandwagon. You don’t get a free ride anywhere. There’s no music. And occasionally we’ll sing ‘We Are Family’ but that’s about it,”
She then laughed about the One Million Moms fan page on face book.
[they] only have 40,000 members on their (Facebook) page. So they’re rounding up to the nearest million and I get that.”“Normally I try not to pay attention to my haters, but this time I’d like to talk about it because my haters are my motivators.”
