Julie Chen Admits To Secret Plastic Surgery That Turned Her Career Around

During an episode of, ‘The Talk’ this past Wednesday, Julie Chen admitted to a shocking plastic surgery secret.

She told her fellow co-hosts that when she was an unknown local news reporter, the director of the news station informed her that she would never get the anchor role because of her, “Asian eyes.”

Chen was crushed after hearing his comment,

“It felt like a dagger in my heart. My lifelong dream was one day to be a network news anchor and if I can’t even anchor in Dayton, Ohio, how am I ever gonna get to New York City?”

But she managed to brush it off and continue to try and prove the director wrong. However, Julie finally gave into all the pressure when a “big time” agent told her the same thing the director did. So, Chen had plastic surgery on her eyes to make her look more “alert.”

You can clearly see the difference in the picture above. Chen admitted that once she changed her eyes, her career really did start to take off. However, she still wonders if it was the right decision,

“I don’t like to live with regrets. I did it. I moved on. No one’s more proud of being Chinese than I am.”

Damn, that’s some crazy sh-t! I wasn’t even aware people did that. Sadly, that probably did play a big role in her career. It’s sad that we focus so much on someone’s appearance, but it’s just the way the world is.

She’s probably going to get a lot of hate from the Chinese community, though.
