Demi Lovato Is Convinced Mermaids Are Real After Watching One Discovery Channel Documentary (VIDEO)

The annoying/adorable Demi Lovato stopped by “Late Night with Seth Meyers” last night and things got really weird. The 21-year-old singer tried her best to convince Seth Meyers that mermaids are indeed real.

The strange conversation started after Meyers asked Lovato about aliens. “I know that they are real. How self-centered would we be, as humans, to believe that we are the only living things in the universe?” She explained.

Meyers, trying his best to hold back his laughter, replied, “Well, call me self-centered, because I don’t believe in aliens.”

And then Demi confused everyone when she admitted to believing in mermaids. She believes that mermaids are actually “an alien species living in parts of the Indian Ocean, which we have never explored before as human beings — and Christopher Columbus had actually seen three mermaids on his way to America.”

She apparently learned all this while watching a documentary on the Discovery Channel. According to the pop star, there are actually pictures of these mermaids online.

It’s good to question things, but sometimes these documentaries can be a bit one-sided. It’s important to do your own research. It’s just like watching a high-profile case on television. You hear the prosecutors make a compelling case against the defendant, and you automatically think, “THIS F–KING DOUCHEBAG IS GUILTY AS F–K!”

And then you hear the defense team present their case and you’re like…

Listening to one side of the argument: Bad

Listening to both sides of the argument: Better

Listening to both sides and doing your own research: Best
