Ciara Reveals How She Dropped 60 Pounds In 4 Months To Get Her Incredible Post-Baby Body!

The 29-year-old singer landed on the cover of the September issue of Shape magazine. And it’s easy to see why the editors wanted her on the cover, she has clearly been working her a** off since giving birth to her son.

Ciara admitted that she continued to gain weight even after giving birth to Future Zahir Wilburn. She joked about being like the Tasmanian Devil while pregnant…

When I was pregnant with Future [Jr.], one thing I learned quickly was, don’t ever let a pregnant lady be hungry, because when I was, I was like the Tasmanian Devil! I indulged in all the good food the world has to offer.

And that was all gravy while she was pregnant, but then it started to become a problem after the pregnancy. Doctors wouldn’t allow her to exercise, so she continued to eat all that delicious food, and she ended up gaining a total of 60 pounds.

But as soon as the doctor said I could start training again, I was on the treadmill the very next day. Once I got back into it, I worked out two or three times daily. I would go to [trainer Gunnar Peterson] first for my one-hour training session, then I’d have two more cardio sessions later in the day.

She lost those extra 60 pounds in just four months. No Hollywood secrets involved. Just hardcore training and a clean eating plan, “It was a very intense program, and I was extremely focused on it.”


But now that she has lost the weight, she does allow herself to have a few cheat meals. Ciara claims she will lose her mind if she doesn’t get some pizza and ice cream…

When I’m on a strict eating regimen, at some point I have to have French fries, a cheeseburger and some pizza. And Oreos and vanilla ice cream! I also believe that drinking tons of water and flushing out your system is crucial for training.

She makes it sound so easy, right? Of course, it probably was a little easier for her. She has the time and money to spend all day with a personal trainer. Most new moms aren’t as fortunate. But still, no one should compare themselves to Ciara. The woman is a freaking beast. 60 pounds in four months? Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t reach that.
