UPDATE:

Spokesman Jeremy Westby released a statement saying Meat Loaf is recovering well, “He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal — he’s responsive and recovering well.” They’re blaming the collapse on dehydration.

ORIGINAL STORY AND VIDEOS BELOW:

Fans of 68-year-old rocker Meat Loaf got a huge surprise while watching him perform at a concert in Edmonton, Canada. The Grammy-winning singer was in the middle of singing I’d do Anything for Love when he fell down to the ground and didn’t get back up.

At first, you can hear a few fans laughing in the video below, but then the music stops playing and everyone realizes this is no act. Members of his band rushed to his side and tried to help him as much as they could. It’s not exactly clear if he was conscious while on the ground. His body didn’t seem to move all that much though.

Reports on his current condition still haven’t been released, but we do know he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat problem after he collapsed during another concert in London back in 2003. His condition can cause his heart rate to increase to dangerous levels, which can result in collapsing.

But this recent incident might be unrelated to his heart condition. He’s had to cancel a number of concerts recently “due to illness,” and the updates provided by his team have been pretty vague.

A man who was at the concert in Canada told the Associated Press that everyone was asked to leave the building after the singer fell. He also points out that he appeared to be struggling the entire night. Fans knew something was wrong.

It was him forgetting words, he wasn’t on cue, but it was forgivable. We’re all loving it and going crazy, and then it just took a turn for the worst.

We just did a quick check of his social media pages, and there are still no updates on his condition. We will keep checking and once there is an update, we’ll put the information at the top of this page.
