Emily Blunt Says Tom Cruise Told Her To Stop Being A “Pu**y” While Filming ‘Edge of Tomorrow’

Tom Cruise is a movie star. It’s in his blood. He will do anything to make sure he delivers a blockbuster film to his supporters. Moviemaking is not a game to him. Heck, it’s probably not even art for him. It’s life/death.

Emily Blunt got a taste of Cruise’s passion while filming the 2014 hit action flick, Edge of Tomorrow. The 39-year-old actress has talked in the past about how brutal filming was. She actually broke bones on the set of the film.

But during a recent interview on the SmartLess podcast, Blunt shared more information from the set, remembering a hilarious interaction she had with Cruise.

We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy. The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn’t know what to do.

She claims that he just stared at her for the longest time as she continued to panic more in the suit. She told him that she didn’t know how she was going to finish the shoot, “I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot,” she told him.

His response?

He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p—y, OK?’

Blunt says his tough love approach actually worked because it caught her so off guard and made her laugh.

The great thing about this interaction is that it doesn’t work with anyone but Tom Cruise. Like, if Mark Wahlberg told her that, he probably would have been kicked off the set.
