Good Guy Dave Grohl Spends All Night Smoking Meats To Feed Over 400 People In Need
Foo Fighters’ leading man, Dave Grohl, oozes coolness. If you’ve ever heard him tell a story in an interview or rock out onstage, then you know exactly what we’re talking about.
But apparently, the 54-year-old star is not only super cool, but super nice as well. According to TMZ, Grohl showed up at The Hope Mission in Los Angeles at around midnight on Wednesday, and spent the next 16 hours whipping up all sorts of smoked meats.
He cooked pounds of brisket, pork butt, ribs, cabbage, coleslaw and beans for an epic BBQ feast. He was very hands-on throughout the night, making sure everything was being cooked to perfection. He paid for everything himself and even managed to get a few hours of sleep while the meat was smoking.
When it came time to serve, Dave chatted up Hope Mission staffers and guests living there in the shelter. In all, we’re told his massive BBQ feast helped feed around 450 guests and 50 staffers.
It was a pretty cool move by Grohl, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The homeless community in Los Angeles has been hit hard this past week after a series of storms caused major flooding and near freezing temps. They definitely needed a hot meal.
By the way, the Foo Fighters just announced three more headlining shows. For those who don’t know, the band is currently gearing up to play its first series of gigs since the shocking death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, last March.
We wish them all the best.
