Zac Efron Opens Up About Fight With Addiction And That Strange Fight With A Homeless Man
It’s not often Zac Efron sits down for an interview and spills his guts; however, the 26-year-old actor did just that during a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
During the interview, Mr. Efron talked about his struggle with drugs and alcohol. He admits things were pretty bad for him, but he also says he wouldn’t take any of it back.
“I was drinking a lot, way too much. It’s never one specific thing. I mean, you’re in your 20s, single, going through life in Hollywood, you know? Everything is thrown at you. I wouldn’t take anything back; I needed to learn everything I did. But it was an interesting journey, to say the least.”
He also revealed how he’s managing to stay sober. He told THR that he regularly visits Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and that he also sees therapist. The High School Musical star also admitted to having a strict 9 p.m. bedtime.
[more…]Although, that bedtime obviously doesn’t work out all the time. He wasn’t in bed before 9 p.m. back in March when he got in a fight with a homeless man in a sketchy part of town.
“I had a friend come pick me up late at night — we were looking for a place downtown to get a bite and catch up. We were having trouble finding somewhere — a lot of places were closed — and the car ran out of gas off the 110. It was ridiculous. We had to pull over, and I called Uber.
A homeless guy, or vagrant, tapped on the driver’s-side window. Before I knew it, he [the friend] was out of the car, and they started fighting. I saw that [the homeless man] was carrying some sort of a knife, or shank, and I got out of the car to disarm him.”
What do you think? Is he telling the truth about the fight? I still find it hard to believe. Why would Zac Efron need to call Uber? He’s Zac ‘Bet On It’ Efron. He could have just snapped his fingers and a helicopter would have been there in a matter of minutes.
You can bet on that…
