‘Queer Eye’ Drama, Crew Sources Claim Jonathan Van Ness Is A Monster To Work With
Jonathan Van Ness? More like Jonathan Loch Ness, am I right?
A new Rolling Stone expose just dropped and it’s bad news for ‘Queer Eye‘ star, Jonathan Van Ness. One of the more entertaining members of the Fab Five is reportedly a monster to work with, this according to multiple “crew sources” who worked with him behind-the-scenes.
He didn’t want to ever share the spotlight with anyone. There were times when we couldn’t even shoot scenes with certain members of the Fab Five together because it got so bad.
But Van Ness wanting the spotlight was not the worst of his behavior. In fact, it wasn’t even near the top. Insiders say he has some rage issues and often yells at crew members on set.
When he comes on set, everything changes if he’s in a bad mood. Working with him is very difficult in any capacity. It’s almost like a cartoon where it oozes out of them. It’s intense and scary.
Netflix reportedly had at least one meeting with Van Ness about his behavior, but it didn’t really have much of an impact, according to the sources who talked to Rolling Stone.
They do admit that Van Ness has the capability to be really sweet and kind, but at least once a day, he loses his sh*t…
Jonathan’s a person who contains multitudes and who has the capacity to be very warm, very charismatic, and has the capacity to make you feel really special that they are paying attention to you. But at least once a day, they would need to yell at somebody. It might be something small, but there’s always going to be somebody to point out and blame and make the villain of the day.
Of course, this isn’t the only ‘Queer Eye’ drama, co-host Bobby Berk announced he was leaving the show after this latest season, which was a shock to fans, but not such a shock to those involved with the show. He reportedly didn’t really get along with the other cast members and often felt like he was doing most of the work.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, he admitted he and Tan France had a huge argument, but that wasn’t the reason he left…
Tan and I had a moment. There was a situation, and that’s between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing — and nothing romantic, just to clarify that.
